Something Worth Sharing
1 John 1:1-4 NIV: That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched梩his we proclaim concerning the Word of life.
The disciples had quite a unique perspective of Christ and many of us wish we could share. To physically hear Jesus´ words, to see Him, and to touch Him with our hands would be remarkable. Many who witnessed Jesus first hand believed in Him. What is perhaps unbelievable to us is that many who experienced Jesus first hand did not believe in Him. And there were even some who followed Him for a while; yet fell away when He did not meet their expectations. Jesus tells us in John 20:29, "blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed," and "Blessed is the man who does not fall away on account of me" (Mt.11:6). The life of a Christian should demonstrate a faith that goes beyond what is seen, heard, or touched; and steadfastness even when things do not make sense. We do not have the same perspective as those who witnessed Christ in the flesh but we have a unique perspective within our own encounters with Him and it is certainly something worth sharing.
